Legal Urpi is a boutique translation, interpreting, and consulting agency. 

We specialize in translation of medical and medical-legal documents as well as simultaneous, consecutive, and whispered interpreting in medical, community , and legal settings.

Our main goal is enabling a clear, accurate, and culturally competent communication between our clients and their audience  within the highest professional standards in the industry.

Translation

Translation of all type of documents

Birth, marriage, and death certificates, diplomas, immigration documents, and other legal documents.

Specialized in handwritten documents and medical documents such as medical histories, and imaging reports.

We also provide notarization of documents.

Interpreting

In person and remote interpreting.
Specialized in simultaneous and consecutive modalities.  From attorney-client meetings, depo preps, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, witness interviews, expert witness testimony, hearings, immigration (USCIS) and court interviews, to conferences.

MEDICAL-LEGAL

In person and remote assignments

Medical legal evaluations in personal injury, malpractice, and Worker’s Compensation cases (AMEs, QMEs, and IMEs). Also, Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) and psychological and psychiatric evaluations.

About Legal Urpi

Gloria M. Rivera, merged her medical background to her love for translation, interpreting, and teaching and over 15 years of experience and created Legal Urpi.

After working in Lima, Peru, as a physician-surgeon, she arrived to the US where she pursued a Professional Certificate of Translation and Interpreting at UCSD Extension and taught for said program. 

As an interpreter, Ms. Rivera holds both medical interpreting certifications valid nationwide, Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI-Spanish) and Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI-Spanish) as well as California Certified Court Interpreter (CCCI). She also has extensive experience as a conference and escort interpreter.

Gloria is a Faculty Member of the National Center for Interpretation of the University of Arizona and is the recipient of CHIA’s 2018 Trainer of the Year Award. 

She enjoys sharing her knowledge by teaching seminars, workshops, and conferences in the United States and abroad.
